There is so much shedding and shifting as we enter the Fall of our lives. Many of us find ourselves with more time and freedom after years of putting our needs on hold. It is an invitation to reconnect with our bodies and desires; to celebrate - rather than grieve - our body’s changes; and to ask what pleasure, nourishment, creativity and living cyclically means for us in this season.
holistic well woman sessions are tailored to your uniquE needs, integrating:
bodywork
I use modalities such as Maya Abdominal Therapy® and Holistic Pelvic Care™ to help restore pelvic health. I also provide self-care techniques and recommendations for complementary therapies.

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® (ATMAT) is an external massage technique that guides internal abdominal organs into their proper position (with a focus on aligning the uterus) for optimum health and well-being.
Maya massage improves organ function by releasing physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen. This improves the flow of the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems to prevent symptoms that can lead to chronic disease.
Dr. Rosita Arvigo developed this technique combining her background as a Naprapathic physician with her extensive studies with her mentor, Don Elijio Panti, a Maya Shaman from Belize and Hortence Robinson, a Belizian midwife. The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy®; combine modern science with traditional healing and wisdom to produce a holistic path to physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
ATMAT involves the entire abdomen and pelvis to help improve:
Urinary leakage (incontinence), frequent urinary tract infections, urinary urgency and frequency
Bony pelvic and hip pain including postpartum, post cesarean and post gynecological surgery
Pelvic heaviness/fullness, cystocele, rectocele, pelvic organ prolapse
During a session, I will briefly introduce/review pelvic and abdominal anatomy and then you will receive abdominal, hip and back massage focused on aligning pelvic and abdominal organs. Instruction in Self Care techniques follows the massage session. Additionally, herbal remedies and other supportive treatments may be recommended to enhance the effect of the Arvigo® therapy.
Many women report immediate relief from symptoms following a session. For others, it may take a longer time for their bodies to integrate the changes. I will work with you to devise a personal plan of care that will support your body’s journey to wellness and help achieve long-lasting effects.
Maya Abdominal Massage is not recommended:
If an IUD is present
Within 6 weeks after abdominal surgery
If an active infection or cancer is present in the abdominal or pelvic region

Holistic Pelvic Care™ (HPC) is a practice consisting of physical and energetic tools designed to evaluate and restore balance in the pelvic space of the female body.
Tami Kent, MS, a women’s health therapist pioneered HPC which helps to increase the strength of core muscles, enhance pelvic energy vitality, improve sensation and bring resonance to the pelvic bowl.
Any pelvic imbalance can be addressed by hands-on pelvic care including:
Postpartum pelvic pain and imbalances (“things just don’t feel quite right down there since having the baby”)
Pelvic pain, painful intercourse, vaginismus
Pelvic heaviness/fullness, cystocele, rectocele, pelvic organ prolapse
The goal of HPC is to empower a woman to inhabit her pelvic space and occupy her feminine ground physically, energetically, emotionally, and spiritually. The pelvis serves a woman in many ways and yet receives little direct care. Many women in our society have never connected with their own pelvic space. The benefits of reconnecting with this sacred space include increased vitality, creativity and a deep sense of well-being.
During an HPC session, we begin with a detailed intake including history and goals. We will review pelvic anatomy and I will conduct a brief pelvic evaluation including palpation and identification of internal pelvic trigger points and tension patterns. The assessment is followed by treatment to balance the pelvis. This includes intervaginal massage with myofascial release and trigger point work in combination with breathwork and visualization tools to assist core physical and energetic balance.
Women describe immediate effects including a new internal awareness and sense of well-being in the core. Women also describe feeling more relaxed and centered, a greater sense of support, and increased strength in their pelvic muscles. On a clinical level, the internal massage increases blood and energy flow, revitalizing a woman’s root and enhancing her overall pelvic health.
