BLESSING THE DOORWAY

Blessing The Doorway is done in your eighth or ninth month of pregnancy to help prepare you for a smooth and sovereign birth, and to guide your loved ones and birth team in holding a sacred and supportive birth space for you and your baby.

These sessions can be particularly supportive if you find yourself plagued with fears and doubts, struggling between other people’s expectations versus your own needs, are planning for a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), or have experienced previous birth trauma.

blessing the doorway is a 2-part experience:

session one

For you, or with your partner

We will explore stories and emotions you are carrying into this experience, what fears and obstacles may lie ahead, what is needed to overcome them, and how to cultivate the peace you need.

I will teach you about the hormonal blueprint of physiologic undisturbed birth - a blessing and birthright for you and baby.​

We will discuss your desired birth, the space you want to create, who you want to attend, and the importance of a whole-bodied "YES!!!"

I’ll offer meditation and visualization techniques to prepare your body and open the spirit door within you to welcome your baby. You can return to these meditations before and during labor.

session two

for you, or with your loved ones & birth team

Session 2 continues to explore the seeds planted in Session 1. If desired, the entire birth team is invited to help prepare and understand what each person's roles are (and are not) and learn how to be in fullest service to the mother during her birth.

I explain the benefits of physiologic birth and why, as a member of your birth team, it is so important to modulate their energy and hold a sacred birth space to protect you and your baby's cherished time.

I have given birth five times and attended hundreds of births both in and out of the hospital. This equips me to address concerns and questions you or your birth team members may have, so that when you are in labor the focus can remain solely on you and your needs.

  • Blessing the Doorway is typically done in the final weeks of pregnancy. It is best to book your session early to secure a spot because my schedule often fills several weeks out.

  • You can purchase your Blessing the Doorway Package and book your visits here.

  • If you live within 25 minutes of downtown Louisville, are planning a home birth and would like the second visit to be in your home, please add a note when you schedule your session.

  • If you feel that you are in need of these services and the prices are a barrier, please reach out to me directly. I am open to exploring creative ways of reciprocity.

  • I do not contract with or bill insurance companies directly. I am not considered “in network” with any insurance companies. Upon request, a detailed receipt will be provided so that you may send it to your insurance company for reimbursement as they allow. I do not fill out forms or respond to requests from insurance companies, which may affect reimbursement.
